Three Strong Soormas For Indian Selection in ICC Champions Trophy

Champions trophy is less than 50 days away, and Indian Team is preparing like all the other teams for the tournament. Rohit Sharma led side went to ODI final in the last ODI world cup and lost in the final.

Though they won the T20 world cup last year but the defeat in ODI still haunts them as they went in the tournament unbeaten and lost the final match to Australia. Their performance since then cannot be concluded for they haven’t played much ODI last year.

However, India won an ODI series against South Africa and lost a series against Sri Lanka which they played after the world cup.

Therefore, the selectors are in a confused state and struggling to find the perfect eleven that can help India lift the victorious trophy in the upcoming mega tournament.

Three names are being considered and are expected to contribute massively to the team. they include –

Shyres Iyer – Shyres Iyer has been great as his performance in Ranji Trophy was appreciated by many experts. He also led his team towards winning the Mushtaq Ali Trophy with excellent performance and leadership skills.

Former KKR captain has the IPL trophy to his name and he has been performing really well in the Vijay Hazare trophy as well. Thus, he becomes a strong candidate to be included in the Champions Trophy squad.

Varun Chakravarthy – With speciality in finger spinning, Varun is a promising player of Tamil Nadu. His strategy with the ball has been excellent and his impeccable performance also contributed to KKR’s victory in the latest edition of PSL.

With Ravi Chandra Ashwin retired and Kuldeep Yadav possibly injured, India can certainly consider Varun Chakravarthy in their arsenal. His form has been amazing against Bangladesh and South Africa recently.

The good part is – India’s matches will be played at the UAE’s spin friendly track and so, his addition in the team can bring great value to the bowling unit.

Yashasvi Jaiswal – Yashasvi Jaiswal’s performance in BGT has been appreciated by the experts. He is also one of the leading scorer in BGT, is technically strong and in great form.

His performance has been great in both the T20s and Test Matches he played. Given the weak performances of Rohit Sharma and injuries of Shubman Gill, Yashavi is most likely to be included in the final squad for Champions Trophy.
